Manny Alas is a Sydney based Design Director with over 35 years of experience in design, joinery, furniture and construction. In the last decade, Manny has owned one of Sydney’s premium surface studios specialising in Italian tiles, natural stone, terrazzo and all species of timber flooring.

During this time, Manny has fostered strong connections to a close network of Top-End Industry Professionals including Builders, Architects, Developers, Suppliers & Stylists.

Applying a hands-on approach to project managing the entire design process from concept creation, client presentations and managing suppliers and builders, Manny oversees the completion of the entire project.

Manny lives by the belief of knowing the design rules and when to break them.

Made By Alas offers a refined understanding of materiality to create, not replicate, high-end residential spaces framed entirely for each client’s personality. Launched in October of 2021, Made by Alas has emerged as a fast-growing studio, consolidating a niche within the high-end residential design space. After winning our first project in November 2021 we now have 10 projects underway to an astonishing value of over 70 million dollars. We don’t believe in competitors, we work alongside our design & construction companions as we feel this approach produces the most refined & considered finished product.

Over 60 years of combined experience form a talented multi-discipline team of Interior Architects, Designers & 3D Modellers. Each team member offers a flair for High-End Interior Design, drawing on working experience & local knowledge from Europe, South America, South Africa, Australia & Beyond. Our Design Process allows our team to  function as a collective, this dynamic allows creativity to bloom.
